After receiving an M.A. in English Literature and an M.A. in Creative Writing, she moved to Peterborough, ON to teach Creative Writing, Canadian Literature and Communications at Sir Sandford Fleming College. She is now retired from teaching; in addition to playing mandolin with the Mandolin Society of Peterborough, she pursues watercolour painting, golf, gardening, Tai Chi, Bridge, squash, and writing. Her first collection of stories, Close Calls, was published in 1991 (Cormorant Books). Her second collection, Through Any Window, appeared in 1996 (NuAge/Signature Editions). She has published more than twenty stories in Canadian literary journals. As well, she has won the Cross-Canada Writer's Magazine short fiction award, and her work has been included in McClelland and Stewart's Journey Prize Anthology.
